Master Djwhal Khul gave The Great Invocation to Alice A. Bailey in 1936. A Universal Prayer, the invocation is a potent instrument to help the Divine Plan fulfil on Earth. The regular practice of this prayer is believed to be an act of great service to humanity.

When giving the prayer, Master DK specified that all people of all nationalities should recite the prayer aloud, “making a volume of sound of real potency, and to say it with all the power of their wills behind it.”

He further specified that “it is the invocation of the ‘will to good’ that is the objective of the Forces who can aid at this time. This realization is of paramount importance.”

When people of goodwill gather together in a group and put their willpower together, divine energies can be released and brought into activity. This downpour of energy can bring strength to a troubled world. Therefore, when united and focused, people have the power to affect world events. Thus, the Great Invocation becomes a simple yet powerful instrument that can be a magnificent liberating force within humanity.

The Festival of Goodwill also known as the World Invocation Day is observed on the Full Moon of Gemini since 1952. The Great Invocation is used to invoke spiritual energies of Light, Love and Purpose. God’s purpose for humanity, the divine Plan, works out as human beings respond, organically and often unconsciously, to these higher energies.

The Great Invocation:

“From the point of Light within the mind of God,

Let light stream forth into the minds of every person and every being.

Let Light descend on Earth.

From the point of Love within the Heart of God,

Let love stream forth into the hearts of every person and every being.

Let Love descend on Earth.

May the Great Messenger of God return to Earth.

From the Centre where the Will of God is known,

Let purpose guide the little wills of every person and every being – the purpose which the Holy Masters know and serve.

May Good Will and The Will to Do Good descend on Earth.

From the Centre which we call the Human Race,

Let the Plan of Love and Light work out,

and may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let Light, Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.”

For all practical purposes when doing the Great Invocation, Master Choa Kok Sui asks us to be aware of our Crown Chakra, and the chakras of our hands and our feet. This is to facilitate the absorption of divine energy, and the redirection of it into the Earth by projecting the energy.

A question is asked by spiritual aspirants, as to what the points of love, light and power are. To simplify matters, the Ajna Chakra is considered to be the point of light, the Forehead Chakra is the point of Love and the Crown Chakra is considered to be the center for willpower.

For more advanced practitioners, the Great Invocation can be done in a group, using the Law of Triangles – a matter of complicated esoteric significance. However, the main purpose of the Invocation is to bring peace to a troubled Earth.

It is recommended to form a firm intention to be of service. Then the Great Invocation is to be recited aloud, preferably three times. Finally, the blessing is to be all inclusive, by blessing Mother Earth with good air, good water and good earth. It can be further used to bless all sentient beings we share our space with – with divine love, light, power, healing, guidance and protection.

In addition to being a form of world service, this prayer has many other benefits.

  1. In becoming channels of help and healing, we are healed of our own pain and suffering.
  2. It infuses peace and harmony, good luck, and helps in harmonizing relationships
  3. It disintegrates negative thoughts and emotions in our aura.
  4. It helps in balancing the qualities of Love, Light and Power within our soul resulting in balanced spiritual development.
  5. It generates tremendous amounts of good karma, when done with the proper intention, since it is an instrument of world service.
  6. The Great Invocation energetically purifies the surroundings to a certain degree.
