Master Choa Kok Sui is known as the founder of Modern Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga. His teachings and techniques are now being practiced in over 120 countries improving the lives of many people dealing with various health issues. This article is dedicated to his life and his mission.

Master Choa Kok Sui spent more than 30 years researching esoteric sciences, concepts, ancient techniques and texts. He examined and experimented with them, refining them and distilling them down to their basic principles. After years of effort, experimentation and examination, he developed the concepts, techniques and practical applications of using “Prana” or “life-force” to create the Pranic Healing system.

Pranic Healing – A system that can effectively balance, harmonize and transform the body’s energy – including the emotions, psyche and the spirit. A system so simple that anyone can learn how to do it. A system so rich, that is described as a bridge to higher spiritual teachings.

While Master Choa Kok Sui was a chemical engineer, he was also a successful businessman, teacher and author who chose to live life simply. Even though he was a millionaire, he preferred the life of a yogi and practiced inner purification and meditation techniques from a young age. Those same techniques were later built into the foundation of his spiritual system of Arhatic Yoga.

He laid emphasis on the development of the virtues and said, “Eradicating weaknesses are very important for aspirants and disciples who are treading the spiritual path. Without the development of the virtues, the disciple will eventually fall.”

Effort, Experimentation & Examination

During the time he was developing Pranic Healing, Master Choa Kok Sui spent a considerable amount of time with several yogis, healers and clairvoyants with whom he experimented and delved into esoteric studies.

His knowledge was encyclopedic and he had a wide range of understanding about healing arts, Yoga, Chinese Chi Kung, Theosophy, Psychic Phenomenon and a wide range of other subjects. He worked closely with his three spiritual guides – Mang Mike, Mang Nenet and Mang Dabon – who guided, nurtured and protected him to ensure he fulfilled his tremendous spiritual mission.

Master Choa Kok Sui, along with his guides and colleagues, spent several years experimenting with healing techniques to understand their fundamental mechanisms and effectiveness. Throughout 1983 to 1987, Master Choa Kok Sui worked on the completion of his Spiritual Thesis. He labored over the monumental tasks of synthesizing, experimenting, validating, conceptualizing, formulating, systematizing and developing the bulk of what would become Modern Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga.

While Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga was his spiritual thesis, his Spiritual Teacher (known as the sat guru) was Mahaguruji Mei Ling.
Guru means teacher. Maha guru means great teacher and ji is a form of conveying great respect. Mahaguruji Mei Ling had been Master Choa Kok Sui’s sat guru since ancient times, dating back many, many incarnations. “The term sat guru means the permanent spiritual teacher. A disciple has only one sat guru but has many spiritual guides.” (Master Choa Kok Sui)

Eventually, in late 1987, he introduced the Pranic Healing system to the public through the publication of a book called “The Ancient Science and Art of Pranic Healing.” He later changed the title of the book to “Miracles through Pranic Healing” and it was translated to 30 languages and distributed in more than 40 countries.

He also published 24 other books on the subject of energy healing and spirituality including Pranic Psychotherapy (1990), Advanced Pranic Healing (1992), Pranic Crystal Healing (1996), Psychic Self Defense for Home and Office (1999), and Meditations for Soul Realization (2000).

The Work & The World

Master Choa Kok Sui is recognized internationally as one of the great Masters of Energy of our time. One of his greatest contributions is to introduce complex and intricate teachings in a simple, friendly and easy-to-understand terminology that anyone can understand and apply. The simplicity and beauty of his teachings lie in their reproducibility, where anyone can learn and practice the techniques and produce immediate, expected results.

His work was not limited to healing alone. He created Arhatic Yoga, a spiritual system which enables practitioners to understand deep esoteric and spiritual concepts. Through the practice of certain meditations and purifications, Arhatic Yoga becomes instrumental in helping achieve a greater degree of oneness with the higher soul and, ultimately, with God.

Master Choa Kok Sui founded the Institute for Inner Studies and the World Pranic Healing Foundation to spread the teachings worldwide. At the time of his samadhi on March 19, 2007, there were over 100 Pranic Healing Centers established in over 90 countries working under the direct supervision of his senior and trusted students.

Master Choa Kok Sui also founded several humanitarian organizations to provide food for the hungry, run feeding programs, medical assistance, legal aid and providing scholarships. He truly envisioned a better world and humanity. He was a humble man who strived to become a better person, and a better soul.

He was someone who cared.
